The Dragonetti’s

Dragonflies are a symbol of self that comes with maturity, a symbol of happiness, new beginnings, and change for many centuries – hope, change, and love.  The Dragonetti Wedding could not mingle these translations any better.  The wedding of Andi and Marlena was a radiant celebration of love and the beginning of their love story.

Who would have thought on the last day of September, we would have had an 80-degree day in Michigan, a combination of sunshine and crisp fall leaves changing at the peaks of the trees.  Fernwood Botanical Gardens – the ideal setting for this September 30th ceremony and reception.  Surrounded by nature, The Dragonetti’s created lasting memories at an intimate ceremony in the woods.  Winding paths then directed guests to the cocktail hour and reception under a round sailcloth tent to enjoy cold beverages and delicious wood fired pizzas.

The Dragonetti Wedding is extra special because I have been lucky enough to know one of the brides for well over ten years.  Andi was always at our house during her high school glory days, and it was always a pleasure to have her around.  You know a ‘good kid’ when you see them, and Andi was definitely one of the good ones.  It wasn’t until just this year that I got to meet her beautiful fiancé Marlena, and instantly, I could tell what a beautiful soul she was.  The two of them together, their smiles, they just brightened up the room – they were in love, and you could just feel the joy.  Seeing Andi now, a young adult marrying the love of her life, was a full circle moment for me, and truly made me feel so special to be there on their wedding day.

Now to their wedding – let me tell you, this was probably one of the most vintage vibey, adorable set ups I have ever seen, and I was obsessed!  With its simple and minimal décor, the outdoor setting took in the scenery of the colorful autumn leaves leaving a magical backdrop.

Each place setting had a different patterned vintage plate – from pink florals to blue patterns, to tiny roses – they were absolutely beautiful, and I wanted to walk out of that venue with every single plate! The most gorgeous rosy, pink napkins, gold silverware – yes, GOLD!  Petite bud vases sat in the center of round tables, gold accented vases and dried flowers tied the final look together.  I couldn’t help but wonder, were the dried flowers sentimental and special to the couple – saved from love letters and other anniversaries?

September 30th was just the beginning of forever for Marlena and Andi.  Their love story will continue, and I cannot wait to see their future blossom.  Cheers to the Dragonetti’s, who’s love is truly contagious.
