Some wedding days feel like they’re touched with a bit of magic, and Nick and Emelia’s Thanksgiving-weekend celebration was exactly that. In true Michigan fashion, the forecast kept us on edge—but instead of the storm we feared, Mother Nature gifted the Sullivans a breathtaking backdrop of gently falling snow and twinkling Christmas lights. It was a dream setting for a groom who loves Christmastime and a couple who radiate pure warmth.

A Sacred Ceremony at St. Mary’s – Royal Oak
Nick and Emelia exchanged vows at the beautiful St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. No décor was needed—the church itself provided all the elegance and reverence the moment required. Surrounded by family, friends, and heartfelt tradition, their marriage began in the most meaningful way.

Winter Elegance at the Reception
The reception details blended simplicity with timeless beauty. Gold accents warmed the winter atmosphere, with mirrored centerpieces holding water-filled jars, pearls, and floating candles—soft, romantic, and effortlessly elegant.
The head table overflowed with lush greenery that smelled divine, intertwined with gold votives and the bouquets from the bride and bridesmaids. It created a natural, glowing focal point that set the tone for the evening.
Emelia was absolutely stunning in her lace gown, the delicate buttons down the back paired perfectly with her white fur jacket—an elegant and practical touch for the snowy landscape. Nick looked fantastic as well, seamlessly coordinated with his groomsmen. Both mothers wore shades of blue, tying beautifully into the winter palette.
The bridesmaids’ soft dull blue dresses and the men’s handsome grey suits completed the perfect winter bridal party look.

Details That Showed Their Heart
Nick and Emelia’s top priority was creating a warm, welcoming, and thankful environment for their guests. As lovers of Christmas, they added personal holiday touches throughout the night:
DIY Ornament Station: Upon entering the reception, guests were greeted with a charming DIY ornament stand—a festive, hands-on way to kick off the celebration.
A Delicious Welcome: Cocktail hour featured delightful food, wine, and champagne, setting an inviting tone for the evening.
A Competitive Twist: Knowing their crowd, they added a deck of cards for guests to sign as the guest book—clever, fun, and perfect for the competitive personalities in their families.
Cupcake Delivery by the Newlyweds: One of the sweetest moments of the night—Nick and Emelia personally walked cupcakes to all 19 tables, visiting each guest and sharing a moment of connection. It was heartfelt, thoughtful, and so genuinely them.
A Surprise Parent Dance: Guests were treated to a special surprise when Nick and Emelia danced alongside both sets of parents, including snippets of their parents’ own wedding songs. It was touching, nostalgic, and incredibly meaningful.
A Dream Team of Vendors
This day wouldn’t be complete without acknowledging the incredible vendors. Despite the unpredictable weather, every vendor arrived on time, fully prepared, and truly went above and beyond. This team meshed seamlessly and helped bring to life such a special day for the Sullivans.
A Couple Destined for a Beautiful Life
Working with Emelia was a dream—she is kind, organized, thoughtful, and an absolute delight. Together, she and Nick crafted a day that truly reflected who they are: warm, joyful, intentional, and full of heart. Their snow-kissed wedding was magical from beginning to end, and I cannot wait to follow their journey as Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan.

Cheers to Nick and Emelia—may your life together be as beautiful as the winter wonderland you were married in.
